Annual Meeting 2025

The Academy of Lacquer Research will hold the 49th General Meeting, research presentations, excursion, social gathering, and a special viewing as outlined below.
We sincerely look forward to your attendance.

* Please reply online by 23:45, Friday, August 8 to confirm your attendance.
* Even if you are unable to attend, please indicate your proxy for important deliberations to make the General Meeting legally valid.
* Applications received after the deadline will not be accepted. Please note that you might not be admitted if you arrive on the day without prior registration. The same applies to online attendance.

[Excursion]
Saturday, August 23, 2025, from 16:00 — Kyushu National Museum, Special Exhibition “National Treasures of Kyushu: Treasures of Kyuhaku”
Only on the day (August 23), please present the envelope of this letter at the Academy of Lacquer Research reception desk (1F Training Room, Kyushu National Museum) to receive a complimentary ticket. This can be done before the General Meeting as well.

[Social Gathering]
Saturday, August 23, 2025, 18:30–20:30 — Tsunezawa (near Nishitetsu Futsukaichi Station) — Fee: 6,000 yen
Details will be provided on the day; fees will also be collected then.

3. Online Attendance Response

Attendance response for the General Meeting, research presentations, and social gathering has been fully moved to the online system.
(Applications for this year have now closed.)

4. Others
  • We cannot accept payment of membership fees at the reception desk on the day.
  • For online participants, access information and presentation handouts will be sent to the registered email address by the day before.
  • Please refrain from contacting Dazaifu Tenmangū Shrine or Kyushu National Museum directly.

Access to Kyushu National Museum (Nearest Station: Nishitetsu Dazaifu Station)

By Nishitetsu Railway
Approx. 35 min from Nishitetsu Fukuoka (Tenjin) Station. Take the Nishitetsu Tenjin Ōmuta Line (Limited Express: approx. 16 min / Express: approx. 18 min) to Nishitetsu Futsukaichi Station, transfer to the Nishitetsu Dazaifu Line (approx. 5 min) to Nishitetsu Dazaifu Station, then 10 min walk (No Limited Express/Express surcharge required).
From Ōmuta area: Take the Nishitetsu Tenjin Ōmuta Line (towards Tenjin) to Nishitetsu Futsukaichi Station, transfer to the Nishitetsu Dazaifu Line (approx. 5 min) to Nishitetsu Dazaifu Station, then 10 min walk (No Limited Express/Express surcharge required).

From JR Hakata Station: Take the “Tabito” Dazaifu Liner Bus from Hakata Bus Terminal (approx. 40 min) to Nishitetsu Dazaifu Station, then 10 min walk.
From JR Futsukaichi Station:
・Route ① Walk (approx. 12 min) or take Nishitetsu Bus (approx. 6 min) to Nishitetsu Futsukaichi Station → Nishitetsu Dazaifu Line → Nishitetsu Dazaifu Station, 10 min walk.
・Route ② Taxi to Kyushu National Museum (approx. 15 min).
・Route ③ Nishitetsu Bus to Kyushu National Museum (approx. 30 min; one bus per hour).

From Fukuoka Airport
・Route ① Take the Subway Airport Line to Tenjin Station → Transfer to Nishitetsu Fukuoka (Tenjin) Station → Nishitetsu Tenjin Ōmuta Line.
・Route ② From the Domestic Terminal, take the free shuttle to the International Terminal → Take the “Tabito” Dazaifu Liner Bus to Nishitetsu Dazaifu Station (approx. 30 min), then 10 min walk.
・Route ③ Taxi to Kyushu National Museum (approx. 30 min).

By Car
Approx. 20 min from Dazaifu IC or Chikushino IC via Takao Intersection.
